Octalus
Deep Rising film (1998)
Dwelling in the deepest reaches of the ocean, the Octalus, a massive octopus like monster that has similar characteristics to other tentacled animals, attacked any living animal that it looked at as food. When Simon Canton, the owner of the most luxurious cruise ship decided to sink the ship instead of lose it to bankers, the crook cut off all communication with the main land and hired a group of low level terrorists to sink the boat with torpedoes, the massive beast struck. Latching itself to the haul of the boat and sending its hundreds of tentacles through the body of the ship. Nearly everyone on board was killed, only a few managed to survive and when the group of terrorists arrived to loot the vaults, they too were dragged into the terror.
One by one the group fell in numbers as the survivors of the ship and terrorists joined forces in order to survive. The monstrous tentacles began to heard the humans to boll of the ship where it tore open a huge hole in it. As the group ran, Finnegan and Trillian managed to get back to the main party area where the huge form of the monster rose up. The creature gripped Finnegan in one of its massive tentacles and prepared to stuff the mortal into its tooth lined maw, but when Finnegan blew out the Octalus' eye with his shot gun, the tentacled monster was forced to release the human.
Hours pasted as the group slowly regrouped to escape and also die until only Finnegan and Trillian were left to escape. They managed to out run the vicious, mouthed tentacles on a jet ski in the sunken parts of the ship until the boat the terrorists arrived on, armed with torpedoes and on auto pilot, ran into the cruise ship. The resulting explosion completely destroyed the multi million dollar vessel, and also killed the Octalus in the fiery holocaust.

STRENGTHS : |
The Octalus has dozens of tentacles that he can use to wrap around enemies, and are also tipped with toothy maws that can grip onto pray and begin to digest the organisms for nutrients. This is one huge film villain, a definite match for most other sea creatures. The Octalus can swim through the water at high speeds. Like normal Octopi it can stay out of water. |
WEAKNESSES : |
Unlike other movie villains this creature isn't supernatural, and can be harmed by normal methods, such as guns, fire, sharp implements ect. |
