Max Zorin
A View to a Kill film (1985)
Born in Dresden, Max Zorin is commonly known as a leading French businessman, operating and manufacturing within the microchip market. However, Zorin was in fact the product of Nazi medical experimentation during World War II, in which pregnant women were injected with massive quantities of steroids to try and create a race of "super-children." Most of the pregnancies failed. The ones who survived grew to become extraordinarily intelligent, but at the same time psychopathic.
The German scientist who conducted the experiments, Dr. Hans Glaub (alias Dr. Carl Mortner) was spirited away by the Soviet Union after the war where he continued his experiments with steroids. We assume that the young Zorin was raised by Mortner, who was one of Zorin's closest confidants, and explicitly stated that Zorin was trained by and long affiliated with the KGB. Among other activities, Mortner also organizes a steroid program for Zorin's thoroughbred race horses, to give them extra stamina during a race.,/
Zorin's activities draw attention that the KGB sees as unwelcome, and he tells KGB head General Gogol that he no longer considers himself a KGB employee.
Zorin's main plan was to destroy his microchip competition in Silicon Valley by triggering a massive earthquake in the San Andreas Fault at high tide, causing a total flood of the valley. Luckily James Bond is at hand to stop him, and he teams up with Zorin's former lover and henchman May Day, who who helps Bond after Zorin attempts to kill her and his men and she decides to sacrifice her life to ensure that the bomb set by Zorin could not trigger the quake.
Zorin owned an airship which took himself and Bond atop the Golden Gate Bridge where Zorin later is killed in a confrontation with Bond, when he falls into the waters from one of the support cables, after failing to kill Bond with an axe.
His henchmen include, May Day, Scarpine, Jenny Flex, Pan Ho and Dr. Hans Glaub/Carl Mortner.
