White Witch AKA Jadis
The Chronicles Of Narnia -
created by author C. S. Lewis (1950 - 56)
Jadis, the White Witch is a tyrant who magically forced the make believe land of Narnia into a never-ending winter during her reign, which had lasted for a hundred years.
The Witch also prevented Christmas during that time.
The White Witch had been styled as Her Imperial Majesty Jadis, Queen of Narnia, Chatelaine of Cair Paravel, Empress of the Lone Islands. Her name derived from the Turkish jadis, meaning "witch", also be related to the French word jadis, meaning "long ago".
The White Witch is extraordinarily beautiful and imposing, whose beauty enchanted both Digory Kirke and Edmund Pevensie. She is also physically powerful, being able to break iron with her bare hands. Unlike her magic, she retains her superhuman strength everywhere except in the Wood between the Worlds. Her skin is white (due to the fact that she ate the Fruit of Everlasting Life) and she is tall (7 ft). A natural-born sorceress, she is arrogant and cruel.
The White Witch's Narnian minions were composed of a large variety of evil creatures, among them were the wolves on her side and some dwarves. The White Witch's army consisted of fierce Giants, Werewolves, Tree Spirits, Ghouls, Boggles, Ogres, Minotaur's, Cruel's, Hags, Specters, People of the Toadstools, Incubi, Wraiths, Vicious Plants, Horrors, Orknies, Efreets, Evil Sprites, Wooses, Ettins, Giant Bats, Vultures, and Evil Apes.
Four ordinary children discover that the wardrobe in an old professor's house leads to the magical land of Narnia, currently under the spell of a witch. The children fulfil an ancient, mysterious prophecy as they help Aslan (the Lion) save Narnia from the evil White Witch. Aslan slays the White Witch in the final battle.
