Isaac

Children of the Corn film series (1984-)

In the small town of Gatlin, Nebraska, a mysterious young boy-preacher, Isaac and his second hand man Malachi, lead the children of the town in a rebellion, killing all of the adults by first killing the ones in a family diner. The children, controlled by the powerful Isaac, worship a god-like figure who lives in the corn fields, called "He Who Walks Behind the Rows". Bert and Vicky are ("the outlanders") a couple passing through Nebraska who hit a boy with their car. They think they have killed him, but they soon realize that the boy's throat was slit right before the accident. Stopping at Gatlin, the couple find themselves at the mercy of the children's corn-cult and try to escape with their lives. Vicky is captured by the children when Bert leaves her with Sarah, a girl who can draw pictures of what is to come. Bert walks into the local church only to find the cult ritual of a nineteen year old named Amus, who was to be sacrificed to "He Who Walks Behind the Rows" that night, along with Vicky. Bert is stabbed in the process. While pursued by the other children he gets help from a kid named Job. It is later revealed that Job and Sarah are siblings. Meanwhile, to draw Bert out of hiding, Malachai suggests that they use the woman as bait. Isaac refuses this, and is overthrown by Malachai, having himself tied to the crucifix in Vicky's place. Realizing the situation his wife is in, Bert follows Job and Sarah to the holy grounds in the cornfield. Night had fallen, and the ritual of Amus's crossing had begun. Both Amus and Isaac are sacrificed to "He Who Walks Behind the Rows". Before Vicky can be sacrificed, Bert intervenes. He attacks Malachai and convinces the other children that this religion is not right. This enrages the god and everyone (except Malachai, who was killed by the god) flee to the barn. Job tells Bert about the "Blue Man" (a police officer) who had tried to stop it earlier by setting the rows on fire. They set gasoline into the sprinkler system and throw a burning vest into the fields, killing the god with multiple explosions.
